In December of 2018, the southeast corner of Washington Park at 12th and Race was transformed to welcome a true OTR gem: Cobblestone. Working within the existing 900 sq. ft. space, our design team developed an intimate neighborhood bar where old meets new and lasting connections can be made. With a nod to the city’s history - paved streets, horse-drawn carriages and the old streetcar – the concept was brought forth through each aspect of the space.

The ceiling design plays on the idea of pathways and connections as it incorporates simple conduit and junctions with stylish lamps and Edison bulbs. We infused new life into a historic interior by reviving the existing backbar, installing new concrete front bar with brass accent inlay and integrating a custom tap system through the floor into a new cooler in the fully renovated cellar below. The material palette is focused around a modern rustic aesthetic with a warm assortment of wood and leather alongside metal black and brass accents throughout. Customers enjoy a variety of seating with intimate, thoughtful details, custom footrests, hooks for personal items and dedicated charging stations. At the end, this project revealed itself to be much more than just a bar.
Bars are the great intersections of life. Cobblestone has brought new life and immense value to this historic neighborhood finishing an important corner of Washington Park in OTR.
